TheBalm Custom Palette review
Hello my Sweeties!
Today I’m finally share with you an overview on the TheBalm Custom shadows palette that can and should be filled by yourself . I’m very enjoyed of this purchase and now I want to make more detailed review of it. Unwritten rule of every blogger is do not use the product until photos was made and this helped me this time. Photo shoot was done in the period of sunny days, and this winter days it would be difficult to show all the beauty of shades shadows. So there will be a lot of pictures and I hope you will see the beauty of this palette.
TheBalm Custom Palette I bought at the official website TheBalm, where it is presented in two versions – on 9 and 16 shades. In each of the options you have to choose the palette box, I liked them all! All of the boxes in a retro style look stylish and really nice. I chose the palettes with a print-collage, which shows the past and present labels of The Balm cosmetics.
By the way, inside the box the decoration is also different depending on your choice. You can see this on the site while choosing the palette box.
I want to draw your attention to the mirror – it is huge and square . We can see the whole face, not just lips or eyes. Palette boxes is made of thick cardboard and refills are mounted on the magnets, which is probably hidden at the bottom of boxes. All the selected shades came to me individually packaged, which is also a big advantage for transportation, additional protection from damage. And of course you can arrange the shades like you wish. It is therefore the right decision!
And here’s how refill looks, additionally it sealed and numbered on the reverse side.
The Balm has a choice of 44 shades refills, which, of course, you can buy without pallet box. But with pallet box it’s much cheaper. Especially during the “-50%” sales campaign, I bought this palette exactly during this sale. There how palette box looks already filled with shades. Do you like my choice of colors?
Now in more detail. All shades will show numbers in accordance with the theBalm site.
24 – matte ivory neutral. I use it most often under the eyebrow, as all satin-shimmery shades do my drooping eyelids more overhanging. Very similar to the shade of Matt Smith of old matte mosaic Meet Matt (e).
44 – matte khaki. Very good color and it is clearly it will ends first. I use it to darken crease (or the place where it should be :-)).
41 – shimmery pewter gold. It looks great as a solo and on a movable century.
10 – light shimmery golden brown. Beautiful and interesting shade of brown scales, more likely would call him satin, there is very delicate shimmer that will be visible on the swatches below. I used to use it for transitions to darker shades, but you can use it as you wish.
12 – pale gold with shimmer. Shimmer looks very light, almost imperceptible. This shade was determined visually as an analogue Snobby shade of the Balm NUDE ‘tude palette.
6 – caramel brown shimmer. Warmer than the number 10 and shimmer also very delicate. Solo is very beautiful!
42 – satin olive green. I love such a colors. I like this color in all my makeups. There will be an example later .
37 – cool satin brown. The unusual shade of brown and very noble. Almost in any of my makeups I can darken the outer corner, it is definitely well suited with warm and cold gamut.
29 – deep satin champagne. One of the favorite and very beautiful colors. Below it will be a lot of different angles because I especially wanted to show you its beauty. Golden gentle tide is clearly seen in the reality and I have not seen analogues anywhere else.
21 – shimmery rose gold. There is absolutely delicate shimmer, and I can call it satin rather than shimmer. The name of a color accurately describes how it looks in the reality, it is the red gold in jewelry. On the movable eyelid looks great, I used to use it often in daily makeups.
1 – rich brown with copper sparkle. There is indeed present a bright shimmer. And in my opinion it is a shade – similar to one from the Balm Silly NUDE ‘tude palette. I love it and I think it’s one of the most beautiful and elegant.
13 – matte burgundy. This one in the right hands can be a gorgeous arrow as well as dazzling haze. One of the most velvety shades. Pigmentation is simply impeccable, but I will say more about this below.
14 – soft satin pink. Well, without such a color palette would be incomplete . Pink color is soft and it is not very cold. On swatches it looks really beautiful. I use it when I want some tenderness in my eyes.
20 – satin violet taupe. An interesting and unusual color. Irreplaceable for me as a basis when I’m making makeup lilac and purple shades.
28 – satin burgundy shimmer. It differs from 13th matte not only by shimmer, but also by shade. It has lighter tone and reminds me of a dark pink grapes.
27 – deep plum matte. Rich dark shade of plum, bright but not gaudy. Maybe this is an analogue color of “Matt Batali” shade in old theBalm Meet Matt (e) palette.
It’s hard to describe the shades, it’s always better to see than just read. Let’s see them closer and from different angles.
About shadows quality I can compose ballads. Besides that they do not contain talc and parabens also they are not tested on animals, so in all respects they are the best. They have excellent resistance on oily eyelids (like mine) with base, as well as on dry eyelids. Pigmentation is very active in all colors without exception. I can not say that for all of you it would be a plus, but it’s a fact. Shadows do not raise dust and perfectly gains with anything: finger or a different quality and material brush. Also the shadows have a very good feather and they are easy to use without unpleasant surprises in the form of spots. Generally, all shadows have velvet texture, but this depends of color shade. For example, two matt shades 13 and 27 are different. 27 is a bit drier, but it did not affect pigmentation. And now it’s time for swatches. I didn’t use the base. Shadows gained on the finger lightly without effort.

And the last two rows:
So, this was my theBalm Custom Palette. All shades are good, no one disappointed. And even if I’m not a makeup master, I use it with a great pleasure. Though, somewhere deep thought I know that I can’t take all of shadows potential. But nothing prevents me to learn and experiment, and with such a good palette it’s even desirable. And at the end I’ll show you my makeups:
- not tested on animals
- does not contain talc and parabens
- mosaic design, its choice
- high pigmentation
- good resistance
- not raise dust, velvety
- well shaded
There is no Cons for me. You just need to catch them during the sales, they ends very fast . How do you like my choice of colors?
That’s all, my Berries! Thanks to all of you who read this post. Wish you a good and positive working week! Do you have the most-most favorite shadows?
